John White
John paints the sunlight and shadows of the old towns and villages of the Languedoc and the craft that sail these waters. Having served for over twenty years on British, American and Australian ships and on R.A.F. flying boats in the Far East, John has experienced the sea and its moods . He aims to capture the freedom and beauty that are synonymous with sailing vessels at sea. The translucent quality of his traditional watercolours bring out the essence of his subjects
John peint la lumiere et les ombres des vieilles villes et villages du Languedoc et les bateaux qui naviguent ses courants. Ayant servi sur des vaisseaux Britanniques, Americains, et Australiens durant vingt ans et pour la RAF dans le continent Asiatique sur des hydravions, John a une connaisance et experience de la Mer et de ses caprices. Il cherche a capturer la diversite et la beaute qui sont synonymes de navigation en mer. Cette qualite de transparence dans ses peintures traditionnelles a la gouache, ne fait que mieux exprimer le caractere de ses sujets.
